Stress is necessary for optimal performance and success, but too much stress can cause burn-out, anxiety, depression and a host of poor health outcomes.  We face stressors each day – and what is interesting is that the same stressor will affect different people in different ways.  This depends on various factors including what situations do we find stressful, how much stress does a certain situation cause us, and how much stress have we already taken on?  In this article I will define what stress is, how it affects us, and then share some tips on How to Cope with Stress.

Your Home Is NOT A Good Investment

Recently I watched a short video interview of Nobel prize-winning Yale economist Robert Shiller. He has owned his own home for over 32 years and stated that after adjusting for inflation he doesn’t think the value of his own home has increased at all. He went on to say that a home is only a good investment if you are a professional and really know what you’re doing. But for the average homeowner, your home is really not that great of an investment.

Back To School: The Parents’ Perspective

As a new school year rolls around once again, I can’t help but think about how much being a father of 3 sons helped change and grow me personally.  Although my sons have graduated from High School, I can still reach back in my memory bank and remember how each August Kathy and I would spend a good deal of time getting our boys ready for their next year of school.
