Homeless – Living In A Van

Homeless living in a van: that’s what I used to tell people when they would ask about our boys Justin and Adam. In case you aren’t aware, they are traveling the entire U.S. this year, with a goal of visiting every single state and for the most part they’re living in a van.

The Trip Of A Lifetime

I just got back from a mini family reunion on my father’s side of the family. And for those of you that don’t know, my father died when I was 16, which means he’s been gone for the better part of 40 years now. And the Fricke side of the family, for whatever reason, hasn’t really kept in touch with each other over the years. So at our mini family reunion, which was to celebrate the 90th birthday of one of my aunts, it dawned on me that I hadn’t seen most of my aunts, uncles or cousins for at least 10 years, some I haven’t seen in 20 years.

Don’t Buy Things, Buy Experiences!

Recently my wife and I realized we had both been handed down silver tea service settings by our mothers, and we really didn’t know what to do with them. We certainly had no use for them, nor do we expect either of our boys will want them. Along about the same time a client called. They had gotten one of those postcards in the mail – you’ve probably gotten one too – offering what appeared to be a steal of a deal on some land in North Carolina. They wanted to know if we thought it would be a good idea for them to buy this property to hand down to the kids.
