Never Give Up
When you quit, you never know what may have been. How close you were. How you would impact the world.
Let me give you an example that a friend shared with me that may help you visualize it even better.

- 1832 Failed in business-Goes bankrupt
- 1832 Defeated for Legislative Post
- 1834 Failed in business-Goes bankrupt again
- 1835 Fiancée died
- 1836 Had a nervous breakdown
- 1843 Defeated for U.S. Congress
- 1848 Defeated for U.S. Congress
- 1855 Defeated for U.S. Senate
- 1856 Defeated for Vice President
- 1858 Defeated for U.S. Senate
Had you stopped there, you would have missed the final point:
- 1860 Elected President of the United States of America…
The achiever above is of course is Abraham Lincoln.
If Lincoln had quit in 1858, he would have been dismissed as a footnote in American History, rather than be remembered as the honored statesman he became. He kept trying, he didn’t quit and the rest is history.
“You cannot fail unless you quit.”
There are many other examples of people who did not quit:
Thomas Edison claimed to have failed 1,000 times before successfully designing the light bulb. What if he stopped at 999?
Dr. Suess was rejected 77 times before finding a publisher.
Mark Victor Hansen’s Chicken Soup for the Soul was rejected by more than 30 publishers before going on to sell more than 70 million copies worldwide.
Henry Ford failed and went broke 5 times.
Tom Landry, Chuck Noll, Bill Walsh and Jimmy Johnson share the record for having the worst first season records in NFL history—they won only a single game. They also account for 11 of the 19 Super Bowl victories from 1974-1993.
Whatever it is you’re working on right now, whatever your dream is, don’t quit. DON’T QUIT.
